Keener-Squire Properties

Keener-Squire Properties has been engaged in the acquisition, renovation, construction, conversion and management of residential property in Northwest Washington, D.C. since 1984. With an interest in historic preservation, Claude Keener and Gary Squire initially undertook the renovation of historic mansions and apartment buildings in Dupont Circle. Since then, they have completed renovation and new construction projects ranging in size from 8 to 304 units, in each case applying a "hands-on" approach founded on a relentless attention to detail.

Two recent examples of Keener-Squire's dedication to quality are The Regent and The Windermere/Harrowgate. The Regent is a new construction, 53-unit luxury apartment project located at 1640 16th Street, NW (diagonally across from The Chastleton). The Regent was completed in 1999, and was one of the few new apartment buildings recognized in James Goode's book, Best Addresses. The Windermere/ Harrowgate is a two-building apartment project containing 221 units, located at 1825 and 1833 New Hampshire Avenue, NW (two blocks from The Chastleton). This 1920's property was purchased by Keener-Squire in 2001 and lovingly restored.

In addition to the Chastleton, Keener-Squire Properties is currently developing the Sheridan Garage Condominiums, a 34-unit luxury condominium project in Georgetown (2516 Q Street, NW) and a 4-unit luxury condominium project in Kalorama (2120 Wyoming Avenue, NW).
